Welcome
Having worked for several years as a digital learning professional, I have experienced a wide variety of roles and industries. For most of this time, influencing the full lifecycle of a project. I now find that I am increasingly fascinated by how we learn, and so started to study this field in more depth. With ever-growing scribbles in my notebooks, I needed to find a way to consolidate my journey of discovery.
And so, Chew On Learning was born!
What topics are covered?
Documenting my development and understanding on the wide-ranging aspects of learning. As I read, study and discover more, I will try to make sense of it and record my findings.
Coming from a degree in Multimedia design and 15 years in the industry, my main focus within learning is digital, so I will include any developments and trends in technology that are related to, and in support of effective and robust learning.
Effective learning design is essential when it comes to getting attention. Making memorable and successful learning experiences is always something worth exploring.
How something looks, acts, and reacts is important to give the learner positive vibes when they engage with content.
How do we promote the value of investing in robust learning solutions to our peers and bosses? Combining company goals with employees needs sounds challenging.
Reflections will attempt to step out of the granular themes and ponder the ways in which there could be symbiotic relationships between all these topics.
"Receiving information is only the start of the learning process"
Writing this blog helps me to learn and develop. I chew on the content, ideas, models, and processes from other learning experts and authors. The ideas here are not my own & I will do my best to reference all originators, but sometimes I might have moments of enlightenment and may consolidate ideas that have already been written about but I am yet to discover. If you stumble across this blog, I hope it will help you too.
